郭姓男子近日突然左上肢不自主抽搐，因頻繁發作，以為患了「羊癲瘋」，到醫院檢查發現左手輕微無力，進一步檢查竟發現他罹患胸線瘤，腫瘤轉移至腦部才導致癲癇發作，經過癌症治療，癲癇已不再發作。
62歲的郭男沒有高血熱銷壓、糖尿病，最近左手突然莫名不自主抽動，次數越來越頻繁，擔心罹患了「羊癲瘋」，到成大醫院神經部尋求治療，但醫師檢查結果，卻發現另一個更大的疾病。
神經科醫師共使用了磁振造影、腦波、抽血、X光檢查，發現郭男的腦部有多顆轉移性的腫瘤，其中一顆腫瘤壓住大腦皮質區，醫師依據轉移性腫瘤通常從肺部開始，再作胸部X光，果然發現他罹患了肺腺癌。
檢查發現郭男的癲癇症來自於腦腫瘤的壓迫，除了癌症治療外，成大醫院神經部醫師吳怡真針對腦部進行放射線治療並配合抗癲癇藥物的使用，他的癲癇至今未再發作。
